Our Board plays a vital role in making sure that the 4 Day Week Foundation achieves its core purpose.
The 4 Day Week Foundation lead the UK’s national campaign for a four-day working week. We are campaigning across the UK for a four-day, 32 hour working week with no loss of pay for workers.
We encourage and support organisations and workers of all kinds to transition to a four-day week through pilots, workshops, mentoring and networking.
Our Board plays a vital role in making sure that the 4 Day Week Foundation achieves its core purpose. They oversee the overall management and administration, and ensure that we have a clear and winnable strategy to make the four-day week the normal way of working in Britain within the next decade.
With the four-day week now firmly on the agenda in the UK as a viable policy change to improve wellbeing and productivity, and with hundreds of companies and tens of thousands of workers already benefitting, the organisation stands at a crossroads as we enter into the next phase of the rollout of a four-day week.
Our current organisational strategy for 2024-2027 expires at the end of this year and we’re looking to recruit two new board members to help take us into the next phase. To continue the momentum that has been generated, crucially we need to step up our fundraising efforts in 2026 to ensure that the resources of the campaign matches the scale of our ambition and the high levels of support that now exists in the country for a four-day week.
We are looking for two individuals with experience of organisational management, ideally with some fundraising expertise – willing to bring knowledge, commitment and a reasonable amount of time to the role – ideally a couple of hours each month
We are hoping the successful candidates will agree to join our board for a minimum period of 12 months, starting in April.
This is an unpaid role advising on organisational strategy, fundraising strategy and identifying other opportunities.
You will attend 3 board meetings remotely throughout the year and one meeting in person (for which travel expenses will be repaid).
Closing date: Midday, Monday 2 March 2026
Interview/start dates:Â Short Interviews will take place (remotely) the week beginning Monday 16 March
Please send over your CV with at least a half a page cover letter setting out why you would like to join the board and what you could bring to the role: joe [@] 4dayweek.co.uk
If you have any further questions or would like to request a copy of our 2024 – 2027 Organisational Strategy, please email joe [@] 4dayweek.co.uk
