Membership Growth & Engagement Officer

Location: Primarily remote. We welcome applications from candidates based in the UK and from locations within ±4 hours of GMT, provided they are able to work predominantly within UK business hours. Occasional travel may be required for meetings and events.

Contract: Full-time (part-time applications will also be considered)

Reporting to: General Manager (with day-to-day supervision and support from the Membership Manager)

Competitive salary based on location and experience.

About the Role

The Tutors’ Association (TTA) is looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Membership Growth & Engagement Officer to help grow and strengthen our membership community across the UK. This is a relationship-focused role, combining membership sales, outreach and member engagement. You’ll spend much of your time speaking with tutors, tuition companies and education organisations, introducing them to TTA, promoting our events and services, and ensuring both prospective and existing members have an outstanding experience. We’re looking for someone who enjoys building relationships, is confident with both warm and cold outreach, and is motivated by helping grow a professional organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Proactively identify and engage prospective individual and corporate members through warm and cold outreach.
• Respond to membership enquiries and guide prospective members through the joining process.
• Build relationships with tutors, tuition companies and education organisations across the UK.
• Promote TTA membership, events, CPD, awards and other member benefits.
• Attend selected TTA events and represent the Association professionally.
• Support the onboarding of new members, ensuring they understand and maximise their membership benefits.
• Develop initiatives to improve member engagement, retention and renewals.
• Maintain accurate CRM records and track membership activity.
• Work closely with the Events Team to support membership campaigns and event promotion.
• Identify partnership opportunities that support sustainable membership growth.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

• An excellent communicator with strong relationship-building skills.
• Confident with both outbound outreach and inbound enquiries.
• Commercially aware and motivated by growth.
• Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
• Passionate about supporting the education sector and professional communities.

Experience in membership organisations, education, recruitment, sales or business development would be an advantage but is not essential.
