Local Authority Liaison Officer

The Local Authority Liaison Officer will play a pivotal role in supporting the prioritisation and delivery of hyperlocal place-based projects that support the transition to a zero-carbon energy system.  Working closely with project delivery and community engagement colleagues, you’ll ensure that our place-based work is credible, empowering and delivering meaningful change on the ground.

The job

You’ll be working alongside passionate project and engagement managers who are delivering real impact on the ground, from community energy events to thermal imaging campaign training, from SME energy efficiency assessments and funding to coordinating innovative Community Action Plans for Zero Energy Systems.

You’ll be leading our engagement with local authorities in relation to the delivery of our Community Action Plans and the development of our methodologies for prioritising where we delivery them, how we create and facilitate implementation of them. Our partner local authorities in Oxfordshire are about to go through a reorganisation process, so you will be at the heart of maintaining and building our relationships and partnership working with them at a critical period.

• Build partnerships with councils and communities to accelerate the transition to net zero.
• Help turn local climate ambitions into practical projects, programmes and action plans.
• Join up local authority needs with Low Carbon Hub’s data, insights and local knowledge to identify opportunities and shape place-based solutions.
• Develop funding opportunities, partnerships and projects that deliver real impact.
• Help communities have a stronger voice in local energy and climate decisions.

*Part-time/Full-time:

The role is anticipated to be full time, five days a week (hybrid) at a salary of £42,300. For an outstanding candidate that meets both the essential and desirable criteria, we would consider offering the role part-time, four days a week (hybrid) at a salary of £49,461 pro rata (i.e. the same take home salary as above; holiday entitlement will also be pro rata).
