About the Role

The Tutors’ Association (TTA) is looking for an experienced Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to join its growing team provide safeguarding expertise and support to TTA and its members.

This is a flexible, remote role suited to an experienced safeguarding professional who is confident providing practical guidance, delivering training and supporting tutors and tuition businesses with safeguarding matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as TTA’s lead point of contact for safeguarding questions and concerns raised by members.
• Provide practical safeguarding guidance to individual tutors, tuition businesses and the TTA team.
• Liaise with relevant safeguarding professionals, authorities and other appropriate organisations where required.
• Deliver TTA’s online Safeguarding Essentials (Level 2) training to individual tutors and tuition business owners.
• Develop and deliver additional safeguarding training sessions in response to member needs where appropriate.
• Support TTA in maintaining and developing its safeguarding policies, guidance and good practice.

About You

We are looking for someone with substantial safeguarding experience and a strong understanding of safeguarding children and young people. You should have experience acting as a DSL or in a comparable safeguarding role, be confident handling safeguarding concerns appropriately, and have experience delivering safeguarding training.

Experience of working within education, tutoring or a related sector would be particularly beneficial.

The role will initially require approximately 10–15 hours per month, with scope for additional hours through the development and delivery of further safeguarding training.
