On Our Radar is a small, international, vocational team of journalists, software architects, digital storytellers and development workers. We share a passion for equality, voice and community agency, and we pride ourselves on our innovation and creativity. We bring a cross-disciplinary approach to understanding and tackling the causes of voicelessness by collaborating with marginalised communities to find innovative ways to share their lived experiences. We do this through multi-disciplinary partnerships with civil society organisations to establish vibrant networks of community reporters, using methodologies we have developed over a decade working in this space (e.g. our “5 Cs Framework” - connectivity, confidence, capacity, conviction and craft). Our community reporter networks generate large quantities of rich, reflective, qualitative data stories which our partners use in various ways - whether for research; to improve their collaborative communications; to inform and use in advocacy work; as part of their monitoring and evaluation; or to influence programme designs - putting the voices of those with lived experience at the heart of their work. In some cases, the stories generated by these reporters lead to the development of award-winning community-led broadcast quality media. Our diverse, international team works on a range of innovative and challenging projects deploying Radar’s model and messaging solutions through wide-ranging partners, typically in the UK, Africa or Asia (recent partners have included Action Aid, BBC, Christian Aid, Comic Relief, Fairtrade Foundation, Groundswell UK, Leonard Cheshire Disability, Save the Children). We have a casual, collaborative, yet driven and effective work atmosphere, where everyone’s input and ideas are valued. We are deeply committed to work-life balance and offer everyone opportunities to learn, experiment, and grow.
