Volunteer & Engagement Worker, Cumbria’s 0-19 Child and Family Support Service
Based in Allerdale or Home–based (fully remote working)
Hours negotiable, to be agreed with successful candidate (up to 29.6 hours per week)
Grade 2 (upper) point 16-19: £23,531 – £25,918 FTE (£18,824.80 – £20,734.40 per annum)
Fixed term contract – Maternity cover for 12 months

Family Action are working in Cumbria to deliver the 0-19 Child & Family Support Service.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate individual who will share and embrace Cumbria’s vision of ‘A great place to grow up and for children and young people to have the opportunity to become everything they want to be’, by;
You will have an NVQ Level 3 (minimum) in childcare, youth and community, health and social care, or community regeneration and can evidence a genuine commitment to continuing professional development and at least two years experience in a similar role.
You will have a broad experience of recruiting, supervising and developing volunteers, providing effective leadership and undertaking relevant training and you will have an excellent understanding and awareness of the impact of disadvantage and social exclusion and a commitment to providing equality of opportunity for all.
You will have an excellent understanding of safeguarding and can demonstrate the ability to work in accordance to local and organisational safeguarding policies and procedures.
The post will involve working with volunteers and families across the Allerdale locality. You must have access to a vehicle for business purposes and be able to travel frequently, with the expectation you will work collaboratively with Family Action & key delivery partners across the Allerdale locality.
