Position: Finance Lead
Location: The role is office and home based with a requirement to work in the South Bucks office at least 2 days a week and travel across Buckinghamshire, as required, to visit our teams
Salary: £28,000 – £38,000 per annum pro rata depending on skill levels
Hours: Full and Part Time considered – a minimum of 3 days per week.
Holidays: 23 – 27 days per year, dependent upon length of service and days worked

As Finance Lead you will be responsible for managing the financial assets of the charity and supporting its long-term future through effective and responsive controls, reporting and planning.
You will support the CEO, advise the Board of Trustees and be part of the senior leadership team, providing timely and insightful forecasting, maintaining effective financial control and supporting the CEO in developing business plans and analysis. You will also be handling transactions when required, as it’s a hands on approach we need.
Having had experience of working in an SME or Charity environment you will use your experience and knowledge, outside Finance, for the benefit of the people that we support and will be willing to provide hands on support, when required.
Responsible for managing the financial assets of the charity and supporting its long-term future through effective and responsive controls, reporting and planning.
The main responsibilities are:
o Ensure all financial processes make best use of the available systems and that staff are appropriately trained to use them
o Produce insightful management reports to the CEO and Leadership team
o Improve sales invoicing process through proactive and effective communication with major clients
o Document, provide staff training on and ensure compliance with financial policies
o Actively monitor cashflow
o Managing the audit and annual audit and producing the Annual report – Accounting standards FRS 102
o An understanding of Charity Commission reporting and Company House reporting
o Monthly cost centre and income reporting to CEO, Treasurer and senior leadership team
o Management of the Quarterly Finance sub-committee meeting (Narrated P&L, Balance Sheet & Cashflow)
o Quarterly management reporting to CEO and Trustees (same as above)
o Collate and provide required information to charitable grant funders
o Develop and maintain contract financial reporting, analysis and forecasting capability. To include a contract quoting and charitable grant funding request capability (i.e. costing and pricing)
o Work with the CEO and others to develop and report on Key Performance Indicators (including Outcomes) that meet the needs of the charity and major clients
o Working with the Leadership team to increase their financial knowledge and responsibility
o Scrutinise costs and provide recommendations for reducing them
· Fully qualified accountant – ACCA or equivalent
· All round experience of working in an SME with excellent operational knowledge
· Experience of working within the Charity sector is essential
· Proven ability to support change management processes with financial data
· Strong IT knowledge including advanced knowledge of MS Excel
· Contract management experience preferred
· An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills
· Strong systems literacy including online systems and reporting systems
· Collaborative and hands-on style of working
· The ability to work on a range of projects
· Ability to prioritise and make significant improvement to operational issues
