£23,080 pro rata per annum (£6,237 for 10 hours per week, including occasional evening and weekend working)

Suffolk Family Carers is an innovative and creative charity, recognised nationally as the overall GSK Impact Award winner 2019. We work in partnership with over 100 organisations to deliver a range of services that impact positively on the lives of adult, young adult and young carers.
We are looking for a highly motivated person with knowledge of Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards to join us as a Relevant Person Representative (RPR). The successful applicant will have experience of representing vulnerable people with a wide range of needs, including differing communication needs. Ideally you would have been already be working as an RPR, however this is not essential. As an RPR you will be required to maintain contact with the people you support, helping them to understand the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS), how it affects them and representing their wishes and advocating for them as appropriate.
The successful candidate will have working knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and DoLS framework. You will have experience and success of supporting and promoting the rights of vulnerable people and be able to use effective communication for a variety of complex communication needs.
You will have excellent time management skills, be able to build effective positive relationships and the ability to engage with a variety of people. You will also have excellent IT skills with the ability to maintain accurate records.
This role will be subject to an enhanced DBS check, which will be carried out following acceptance of any offer made to the successful candidate.
