Studio Manager role at Jan Hendzel Studio
Jan Hendzel Studio is looking for a studio manager to join our award winning team of furniture makers and designers based in Woolwich, South East London. We pride ourselves on innovative design, challenging technical joinery and pushing the boundaries of what it means to work with wood.
We are looking for an experienced studio manager to help manage the day to day running of the studio and workshop, the steady growth of our business, and our expanding roster of exciting bespoke projects. You will take initial enquiries through to final delivery – liaising with clients and contractors, and maintain and develop organisational systems that ensure projects meet budgets, deadlines and client expectations.
At heart, the essential job requirements are excellent organisation and communication, a good understanding of a production focussed business and client needs in the high-end design sector, adaptability within a small team, and a passion for furniture and design. We want to build on the success of our recent work, and are looking for someone who will join us on our journey to new heights, helping to shape and steer our future direction.
At Jan Hendzel Studio we enjoy hearty workshop lunches, our unique work environment, the local cafe, exciting and one of a kind projects with a truly sustainable approach, and a sunny drink by the river.
We are committed to equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion and we encourage applications from groups underrepresented in the design and furniture making sector.
The position is based in our Woolwich studio, South East London. We are open to full or part time applicants and there is some degree of flexibility dependent on circumstances.
Salary circa £26,000 – £32,000 PA, depending on experience.
Please note – this is not a job for someone wanting to make furniture in the workshop.
No agencies or recruiters please.
