Contract: Fixed term until six months from start date
Location: Sustrans offices in central Bristol with the flexibility to work from home
30 hours per week
£22,389 per annum (pro rata for part time hours)

Have you got a serious passion for the written word? Are you looking for an opportunity to play a key role in a communications team, within a charity with a strong environmental focus? Then our Storytelling Assistant role may be perfect for you.

As the Storytelling Assistant, you will support the Content and Storytelling team in delivering high quality, user-centred content that inspires people to engage with our important cause.

You’ll work within our Strategic Communications team and our wider communications network to tell Sustrans’ story and show the impact that we have as a charity. As well as creating content for our website, you’ll support the team to tell stories through native social media content.

Supported by your immediate and wider team, you will work across our channels to develop content that supports our fundraising and influencing work, contributes to the delivery of our campaigns, and engages our consumer and business audiences.

This role will require some travel and working at different locations to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans. You’ll initially be working from home, with travel expected to Bristol around once a fortnight.

About you

You should have exceptional communication skills and must understand the basic principles of storytelling and what makes good content. You should have editing and proofreading experience.

We will look for evidence of your experience in social media. Plus good knowledge in one or more of the following;

• video editing
• graphic design
• analytics
• a content management system.

You will be skilled in administration and research, and will proactively source case studies to support colleagues from across the organisation with a variety of different projects.
