30hrs per week (Term Time Only, Negotiable)
Grade 1 point 6-10: £17,555 – £19,471 + £480 home working allowance per annum pro rata

At Family Action we transform lives by providing practical, emotional and financial support to those who are experiencing poverty, disadvantage and social isolation. We have been building stronger families since 1869 and today we work with more than 60,000 families in our 200 community based services, as well as supporting thousands more through national programmes and grants.
Family Action has an exciting new contract with West Suffolk CCG to provide a Neurodevelopmental (ASD, ADHD, behaviour that challenges) Support Service for families across Bury Rural, Bury Town and Forest Heath in West Suffolk. The service will provide practical and emotional support to family members and children and young people in the form of coffee mornings/parents support groups, information sessions, a range of courses and individual support including support to liaise with schools.
We are looking for someone who is passionate and knowledgeable about supporting children and young people with neurodevelopmental conditions and their families to support the organisation and delivering of our groups and courses and to provide admin support for the team. You will have good IT skills, particularly using emails, Microsoft Office and experience of using data bases. You will have a good understanding of ASD, ADHD and behaviour that challenges and of local and national sources of support. You will also appreciate the value volunteers can bring to supporting families in the community and an understanding of how to nurture and support them. You will have some experience of group work, even as a participant, as you will be supporting the organisation to deliver a range of information workshops, courses and peer support sessions and these are a key element of the service offer.
The role is home based, however will require regular travel across the Bury and Forest Heath areas in West Suffolk and occasional travel to our office in Swaffham.
Family Action welcomes applications from all sections of the community. We are committed to Equality, Diversity & Inclusion in all that we do and know that greater diversity will lead to even greater results for families and children.
What will we offer you?
We’ll offer you flexible working hours, a generous pension scheme and leave entitlements, eye care vouchers, a cycle to work scheme and other great benefits. We have an excellent wellbeing offer and we will invest in your professional development with on-going quality training and career development opportunities. You’ll join a new team of staff within West Suffolk but have the support from an established, supportive and high-performing service in Norfolk & Waveney and have the opportunity to thrive in an innovative, non-hierarchal organisation that values your opinion, encourages learning and has the needs of children and families at its core.
We are forward looking, ambitious and committed to continuous improvement. We are a people focused, can-do organisation, which strives for excellence in all we do and operates with mutual respect. If you share these values and behaviours and have the necessary skills then we look forward to hearing from you.
