We are looking for an enthusiastic Software Engineer with Shopify Plus experience to join our Product & Technology team – the technical home for our premium retail user experience. We are a new technology company, led by an experienced team and backed by seasoned investors, and you’ll be working closely with the Co-CEO on all things tech. We’re building on top of the enterprise-grade Shopify Plus platform and so we’ve been able to hit the ground running. This role will encompass all aspects of running a high-end e-commerce site – with the entire user journey at your fingertips. We care greatly about our platform looking fantastic, working seamlessly, and performing well. Customisation, the specific tools Shopify Plus offers, and automating workflows should all be things that excite you as much as us!
This role pays a basic annual salary of £40,000-50,000 depending on experience and the seniority of the role offered. Other standard benefits include five weeks’ annual leave (plus bank holidays), company pension, and a unique four day working week.
We’re looking for that unicorn – a skilled and experienced developer, who wants to work as part of a team, can lead autonomously on sub-projects, cares about metrics and measurement, and is an all-round collaborator. Technically, in addition to knowing Shopify Plus inside out, the right candidate will come with: excellent knowledge of modern cross-browser technology (HTML5 and SCSS); experience building high quality responsive layouts complete with smooth interactions, transitions, and animations; experience of modular / microservice builds; fluency in version control and build best practices; and a track record of interpreting and working with API integrations.
We’re obsessed with work life balance and everyone at Loytech works a four day week. We condense a full 37 hour working week in to four days (0800 to 1800) – which means everyone gets to enjoy a three day weekend every week. We work 75% (three days) remotely and 25% (one day) on-site. All team members need to get to Edinburgh each week (at their own cost and in their own time) for team building, strategy, workshops, and general collaboration so this role likely best suits candidates within easy travel time of Edinburgh.
