We are looking to recruit an energetic, sociable, engaging individual who has charisma and an ability to positively influence others. They will be able to demonstrate that they can establish and sustain high quality trusting relationships with a broad range of stakeholders. This person will have excellent interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence and a sound knowledge and experience of the VCSE sector. The VCSE sector in Cornwall comprises of 2500 registered charities who offer a range of services to residents and visitors in Cornwall through paid roles and volunteers.
This individual will have a proven track record of engaging this sector and helping to achieve its outcomes for its beneficiaries. We have established an Alliance model as a structure for increasing our engagement with the VCSE. This individual will be expected to establish new alliances on a broad range of themes such as housing, environment, and community safety etc. Therefore, they will possess skills in facilitation, coordination, need assessment, mapping provision, gap analysis, and chairing meetings. They will also have experience in planning and facilitating workshops, training, conferences, and events.
As an organisation known as the voice of the voluntary sector this individual will also be able to represent the sectors interests, advocate and raise the profile of the sector and help to advance the sectors causes and address concerns. This individual will be a member of a small team, working closely with our comms professionals on campaigns and events and will therefore have good public speaking skills and an ability to positively influence a wide range of stakeholders to support the VCSE.
