VOLUNTEER ROLE
Corporate Training Manager
Ideal time commitment: approx. 10-15 hours per month; flexible
Responsible to: the Head of Education and Outreach
Bi Pride UK’s mission is to create spaces where people who experience attraction beyond gender can be freely visible and celebrate themselves and their identities. It’s not enough to be ‘welcome’ at a Pride. We make up a very large proportion of the GRSD (Gender, Romantic and Sexual Diversity) community – many stats actually say we’re over half the community – and we deserve to be visible and celebrated in our own right.
There are many ways to make this happen, and we work in many ways to bring this change about:
The role:
The Bi Pride UK Education and Outreach department is growing. We are looking for a volunteer to take a lead on our expanding corporate training and consultation work, both in fulfilment of our growing group of corporate sponsors and to formalise a growing source of charitable income through businesses, public sector bodies and charities looking to us for bi inclusion support. This is an exciting opportunity to effect real change in bi visibility and inclusion work across a wide range of audiences.
As the profile of Bi Pride UK grows, the greater our reputation for making a difference for people attracted beyond gender in various areas of life, and the more we are invited to join speaking engagements and provide advice and training on increasing bi visibility and inclusion. As well as providing a strong source of income, this is a powerful endorsement of being a respected body in our community and field, and we are keen to have a dedicated volunteer working in this area.
The Corporate Training Manager will coordinate requests for training, consultation, and panel participation and other speaking engagements, actively seek out new audiences for our training and consultation work, and lead on developing the training and consultation resources we use in these contexts. Their main responsibilities will include:
Why volunteer for a charity? Volunteering in your industry position is an excellent way to build up your skills and add another exciting project to your CV. Bi Pride UK are growing rapidly and quickly making a name for ourselves in the GRSD environment as a historic charity. This is an excellent opportunity to grow professionally while making great change for a fantastic cause.
