Avon Needs Trees
Avon Needs Trees is a registered charity (No. 1184386) based in Bristol that is buying land in the Bristol-Avon Catchment Area to reforest and rewild.
Planting trees will sequester carbon from the air, enhance biodiversity and provide natural flood management, as well as water and air quality improvement, and more public amenity space.
ANT successfully registered with the Charity Commission in July 2019 and now has a board of professional and dedicated trustees who bring invaluable experience. In August 2020 ANT completed its first purchase – 34 acres near Calne, Wiltshire – and is now purchasing a second piece of land.
We are supported by The Environment Agency, The Woodland Trust, The Bristol-Avon Rivers Trust, the local Wildlife Trust and the local Friends of the Earth groups, among others.
The Administration and Publicity Officer will be joining ANT at an exciting stage in our journey as we grow to meet the challenges of regularly acquiring land for permanent reforesting.
We are looking for a passionate, hard-working and enthusiastic individual to join our growing team of committed staff and volunteers. Strong administrative skills and high levels of organisation are more important than specialist knowledge but a commitment to our environmental objectives is essential.
We especially welcome applications from underrepresented groups.
Email your covering letter (one page) and CV (two pages maximum) to Director Dave Wood by 31st July 2021.
Please use these to outline your experience, qualifications and suitability to the role description and person specification with examples.
Please include details of two referees. Ideally one should be your current employer or most recent employer.
Please also indicate on your application your availability to start, your location and your ability to travel as required.
Interviews are planned to be on 5th August via Zoom. Please indicate in your application if there is an issue with this date.
